1. Duwan Sing Syiem ViewPoint or Mawkdok Dympep Valley.

While traveling from Shillong to Cherrapunji the first point you can visit is Duwan Sing Syiem Viewpoint which is also known as Mawkdok Dympep Valley.

 It is located on the Duwan Singh Bridge on the road.

Here you can see Dympep valley which is very mesmerizing to see. The V shape of wavy green heels and valley, the dense forest, the mentoring fall, and the river make this viewpoint a spectacular site.

There are a few shops and a cafeteria where you can take tea or coffee and snacks. There are no entry fees or any charges to visit this place. But you may have to pay for parking.

2. Wahkaba Falls

While coming from Shillong to Cherrapunji there is a Wakaba fall in the middle. You may also track for a while by road to receive Wakaba falls.

Even during that tracking, you can see a lot of great views. Wakaba falls is about 180 meters high and this is a great gem from Khasi hill. 

You can see the waterfall from the top of the road and if you want you can follow the waterfall, go down and see the waterfall from very near.

The best time to visit Wakaba falls is during the rainy season because in the rainy season, the water flows at full speed and it’s open from 6 am to 5:00 p.m. The fee for visiting Wakaba waterfall is Rupees 10 Per person.

3. Arwah Cave

If you don’t know the History of the whole earth then definitely go to see the fossils of Arwah Caves. Arwah caves are a distance of 3.5 km from Cherrapunji and are situated in the Khailyshamong area of Khasi Hills.

 Arwah caves are very famous for their limestone formation and you can see the fossils here are thousands of years old.

 If you are going here then our suggestion is that you must take a guide here because the guide will tell you such things about these Caves which are considered to be a hidden fact here. 

The time of the Arwah Cave is from 6;00 am to 6:00 p.m.It will take you around 30 minutes to 1 hour to cover this place and the entry tickets here are 20 rupees for adults and Rs 10 for children. It’s very close to Wakaba Falls. Here you will get the guide for Rs 100 and here the charge for carrying the camera is Rs. 50. 

4. Ramkrishna Mission Ashram and School,

Ramakrishna Mission is in Cherrapunji Meghalaya. Here you are able to see three different locations: the Museum, Ashram, and a big and beautiful School.

From the back side of the school, you can see a very beautiful natural viewpoint of the Mountain which is pretty plain and is not curvy like the other heels and mountains,s and also some lake between the mountains.

The anthropological Museum is a tribal cultural Museum that displays the culture and heritage of East Khasi hills and artifacts and other handicrafts of East Khasi Hills and also the Culture and heritage of various tribal societies of North East India. On October 20/1952, Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru laid the foundation stone of this Cherrapunji mission.

There is also a beautiful temple of the Hindu religion and there is no entry fee its timing is from 9:00 a.m. to 4 p.m.

5. Dainthlen falls

Dainthlen waterfall in Sohra which is also known as Cherrapunji and this fall is 80 meters deep which means the waterfalls are down to 80 meters. 

The best way to cover this fall is by foot. You can come here by car or Scooty or taxi and there is a parking space for Rs 20 and you can cover this place after parking.

There are some precautions to remember while covering this place: always stay away from the rain. It is made of such a railing you can even fall and die by going near it so keep precautions for these things. 

Whenever we see a waterfall we see it from below but the specialty of Dainthlen waterfall is that you will see this waterfall from where the waterfall starts. 

Standing on the top of the waterfall and watching the waterfall fall down is something else and different to watch. 

The waterfall opens from Sunrise to Sunset although there is no entry fee if you and re coming in Scooty or car you have to pay 20 to 30 for parking and this place is one of the most beautiful and best photogenic places in Meghalaya.

6. Wei – Saw-dong waterfall

This is one of the best waterfalls in Cherrapunji which means you can have a lot of fun by coming here.

Wei Showdang Waterfall is one of the most spectacular locations within Cherrapunjee. Don’t forget to check out the fish-shaped rock beneath the waterfall.

You can visit this fall and enjoy its beauty at any time of the day but you are not allowed to come at night.

It may take you around 2 hours to cover this place because it’s difficult to reach there. If you are aged and have slight pain in your leg or you have heart disease or you are pregnant or you have any serious health problem then do not come to this place.

To come here you must be fit and fine as climbing down is easy compared to climbing your way back up. Wei- saw-dong falls is just 10 minutes away from Dainthlen Falls.

It is a very beautiful three-step waterfall of Khasi hills and you will get to see 3 waterfalls together flowing step by step.

The most important thing about Wei – saw-dong fall is the tracking to reach here. You will have to track for about 15 minutes to reach the fall, which is full of adventure and fun.

By the way, they are not allowed to swim in Wei – saw-dong falls but as soon as people see the clear water, they cannot wait any longer until they start jumping in the water.

7. Nohkalikai Waterfall

When the water of a waterfall descends from a height of 1010 feet the beautiful scenic view of this waterfall mesmerizes you. This mesmerizing view has made Nohkalikai a very famous attraction in Meghalaya. Nokhalikai waterfall is Asia’s highest waterfall which is about 340 meters high.

This is a very important story associated with the Nohkhalikai waterfall that was a protagonist name Likaii whose child is killed and his second husband and gives her to eat in this rage and madness, Likai had jumped from the nearest waterfall to his house and this was the Nohkalikai waterfall and the full meaning of Nohkalikai is from where Likai jumped. This is why the waterfall is called Nokhalikai waterfall.

You can also do track to reach the waterfall and if you are a tracking lover then this place is great for you.

Nohkalikai is about 5 km from Sohra which is also called Cherrapunji. There is a 30 rupees fee to come here and the timing for this fall is from sunrise to sunset.

8. Seven sister waterfall

The name of the waterfalls is Seven sister waterfalls as the name suggests there are 7 waterfalls lined up together. It is also called Nohsngithiang Falls and its height from when it falls from the top to the bottom is about 315 meters and has an average width of 70 meters. Which makes it one of India’s tallest waterfalls.

Sometimes you can see the water rainbow here. The view of the water rainbow from such a height it’s very amazing to see and unforgettable.

The best time to visit Seven sister waterfalls is during the rainy season because at that time you will get to see a very clear view of all seven waterfalls.

 You can also see some views of the flat land of Bangladesh.

The timing of the seven sister viewpoints is from 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and there are no entry fees it’s absolutely free. It will take 20 minutes to cover this place. However, if you have a Scooty or a car then you have to pay to park. 

The most famous waterfall of Cherrapunji is the Seven sister waterfall and the most picture-stick tourist spot in Meghalaya. If you visit Meghalaya you must come here to see the Seven sister waterfall. 

9. Mawsmai Cave

Mawsmai Cave is very close to seven sister waterfalls. It is just 4 km away from Seven sister waterfall.

This is the only such Limestone Cave in Meghalaya where tourists can come. Limestone stones are found throughout the caves and it’s very slippery and you will get an ammonia smell in the cave.

The entry fee is Rs 20 for adults and 5 rupees for children. The parking of Scooty is 10 rupees and car parking will be 30 rupees. The time of this place is from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

To see this Mawsmai Cave from inside you will have to do a complete track. Your entry will be from one side and exit will be from another side and this will be a short tracking.

There is a very narrow point you will have to go down and it is very cozy. If you are an aged person or you have any kind of large problem you should not enter the cave. Just visit this from the entry side and you can click photos and if you want then spend time in shops and eating points outside of the cave.

Or if you have decided to complete this cave then you must wear comfortable shoes while coming there and there are some sports where you find water in holes.

Mawsmai Cave is a must-visit place in Cherrapunji or Meghalaya and enjoys this place fully. This place is Nicely developed for all types of tourists to enjoy here if you are a young couple, family, children, or older. 

10. Eco Park

The distance from Shillong to Eco Park Cherrapunjee by road is 57 km. It takes 2 hours to reach Shillong city. But it’s very near to Mawsmai Cave and the Seven sister waterfall is just 10 minutes from there.

The time required to see this place is 30 minutes. The entry fee for Eco Park is Rs.20 per head. Eco park timing is 8 am to 5 pm. The park is open on all days of the week except 25th December and 31st December.

There is also a small garden for children to play in. Restaurants and food stalls are also available here.

The sonic beauty from the edge is awe-inspiring. On the other side of the Eco park is a viewpoint where you can see the Bangladesh plains. The eco-park also houses a wide variety of Orchid plants.

The sport from where the Seven sister fall originates is named Eco Park. It is a man-made park. It is a very big park covering a very large area. You can see Seven sister Waterfalls from very near and there you can do some water activities.
